"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.'"
Luke 2: 10, 11
Bob and I were talking about Christmas the other day and that we should be getting on with writing our annual Christmas greeting to all we love and hold dear -- which greeting, by the way, last year never left our house (sorry 'bout that). This year, we're determined . . . thus, I had a great idea. Why not let Shutterfly do a quick photo collage, add the traditional Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, jot down our blog address to replace our letter, and get it mailed. So, if you're reading this, you received our greeting and must be wondering how the Hutchison's are getting along. Thanks for wondering . . . we love you all and wish you a most merry and blessed Christmas season. Here's a few items to catch you up on Bob and Nancy's life:
February 2007 - Caribbean Cruise with Dave and Heidi Tennent In February of 2007, we took a wonderful trip to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands with our dear friends, Heidi and Dave (Bob's Boeing buddy). A great time was had by all -- good food, lots of interesting places to visit, and good friends. What more could we ask for?
February to July 2007 - Home Remodel
As we left for the Caribbean, the foundation was being dug for our new master bedroom and bath. Since 1970, we have lived in the same home where we spent our early married life, raised our two sons, and saw neighbors come and neighbors go (a few are still with us!).
(Note Bob's 42"big screen, a must)
It was time, after 38 years of only one bathroom, to do something about it.
We knocked a back bedroom wall out 12 feet, extending the bedroom into a master bedroom with a wonderful walk-in shower, walk-in closet, and a very special bedroom for us. We also updated our inside doors, molding, carpet, and a few other minor fixes. We hired a reliable contractor, Westhill, Inc., and everything turned out perfect. It was like moving into a new house! The bathroom was built to help Bob with his disability and made it so much easier for him to shower and use the potty. One of the large windows overlooks our back yard and the whole room has such a serene feel about it.
Aaron Zimmerman, our lead carpenter was simply awesome. Not only was he a perfectionist in his work, he spent a lot of time visiting with Bob and loving on our cats. Unfortunately, he passed away last summer; we will miss him and appreciated his work for our family.
May 4, 2008 - 40th Wedding Anniversay-
Our dear children gave us a wonderful party to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary (see blog post below, May 2008)
Granddaughter Allison -- nothing but sweetness and another grandchild is on the way!

Kyle and Terra's daughter, Allison Hannah, is already two and a half years old! She continues to bless her grandma and grandpa. This past summer she visited every week and often stayed the night. We have such a good time together. She's a chatty, curly-haired blonde who will turn three years old this coming June. Near the end of May, she'll become a big sister. At this time we don't know if she'll have a brother or sister, but whatever it is, it will be another welcomed grandchild for both of us.
In closing, both of us hope you are all happy and well this holiday season and are able to enjoy the joy the Christmas season brings. Don't ever hesitate to drop by for a visit or drop us an email (nohutchison@gmail.com). We love to see our family and friends and wish you all a healthy and happy New Year 2009.
